Our client is a supplier into a global manufacturer of tools for the oil and gas industry. They are the leading supplier of advanced technology solutions.
Your role will focus on the development and qualification of welding procedures to ensure that the company meets internal, industry and customer weld specifications.
The Welding Engineer would have an interest in process improvement is essential as you will be responsible for reviewing and updating our welding processes reducing product costs and process cycle.
As part of your role you will liaise closely with colleagues from Quality and Engineering whilst being a key member of the production team.
Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy or a related subject, you will have gained experience working in a similar role and will have proven knowledge of manual & automatic welding processes.
Role in detail
-Involvement at a contract review stage, so design, procedural and qualiy issues are highlighted
-Formulation and indexing of welding procedures to comply with industry standards
-Training and qualification of welding team
-Defect analysis and corrective actions involved with continuous improvement
Qualifications
-Certified IWE/EWE or Certified IWT /EWT
-Diploma in Welding Technology
